WE IN LA ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when using the WE IN LA mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

  • Account information — name, email address, and data associated with your sign-in method (Apple ID or Google account).
  • User content — posts, listings (housing, jobs, marketplace), photos, tips, events, and other content you submit.
  • Location data — approximate location if you grant permission, used to show nearby places, events, housing, and services sorted by distance.
  • Device and usage data — device type, operating system, app version, and diagnostic information.
  • Purchase information — in-app purchase status. All payments are processed by Apple; we do not store your payment card details.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve App features.
  • To create and manage your account.
  • To display community content: places, tips, events, jobs, housing, and marketplace listings.
  • To power location-based search, maps, and distance sorting.
  • To generate AI assistant responses (WE IN LA AI chat).
  • To respond to support requests and send important service notices.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure security.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services. Each provider processes data under their own privacy policy and provides equal or greater data protection as required by Apple's App Store Guidelines:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Apple Sign In — authentication via Apple ID.
  • Google Sign In — authentication via Google account.
  • Google Maps — map display and location services.
  • Anthropic Claude — AI-powered chat assistant responses.
  • Apple In-App Purchases — payment processing for listings and features.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use advertising networks or cross-app tracking SDKs.

Tracking and Advertising

WE IN LA does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information as long as necessary to provide the App, maintain your account, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by:

  • Using the "Delete Account" option in the App (Profile → Settings).
  • Emailing weinlapp@gmail.com with subject "Delete My Account".

We will process your request within 7 days.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Update your profile information within the App at any time.
  • Revoke location permissions in your device Settings.
  • Revoke camera and photo library access in your device Settings.
  • Request a copy of your data or ask us to stop processing it by contacting us.
  • Withdraw consent and delete your account at any time.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make significant changes, we will update the date above and may notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
